Whidbey Island, located in the Puget Sound of Washington State, is a beautiful and peaceful destination perfect for a day trip. Whether you are looking to relax, explore, or just have fun, there is something for everyone in this lovely paradise.
Get the day started with a delicious breakfast at one of the island's charming cafes, such as Callen's Restaurant, in Coupeville.
Continue the morning with a visit to Fort Casey State Park, a historic military fort with breathtaking views of the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. Next, head over to Coupeville, a charming and historic town on Whidbey Island, where the Island County Historical Museum is highly recommended. This museum holds exhibits on the area's rich cultural and natural history and is a must-visit for anyone interested in the history of the region.
It is time to try one of Whidbey Island's many local restaurants, such as Front Street Grill for lunch. You need to try their curry mussels or chicken wrap with fries. Yum!!!
There are many dining options on the island, so there is something for everyone's taste.
After lunch, continue the day with a visit to the beautiful Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve. This reserve is perfect for hiking along the beach, exploring historic farms and homes, and taking in stunning views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
Later in the day, on the way to the South end of the Island, feel free to make a stop at Greenbank Farm to pick up a delicious Whidbey Pie. My absolute favorite is the marionberry one, perfectly paired with hot tea.
For dinner, Langley has plenty of renowned restaurants, such as Prima Bistro for deliciously cooked Penn Cove Mussels, or Ultra House for a perfect bowl of ramen.
After a flavorsome meal, make sure to end the day with a visit to the Whidbey Island Center for the Arts, where a performance or movie may be enjoyed.
This is just a sample itinerary of what a day on Whidbey can hold, but there are many more activities to do and places to see on this beautiful island.
Enjoy your trip!
