Christmas Shopping in Whidbey Island

Updated: Dec 2, 2021

Does anyone else feel overwhelmed by the Christmas shopping? Shopping can be stressful, but it doesn't have to be. You can start shopping during the sale season or use checklists and even apps on your phone. We may live on an Island without big store chains, BUT that doesn't have to be a hindrance during the holidays. In a world where Amazon is a daily resource, attending local Holiday markets and Makers Markets can indeed be a treat! Besides supporting locally owned businesses, you can impress the recipient with unique gift ideas.

My favorite places to shop in Oak Harbor?

  • Purple Moon with a large variety of crystals, jewelry, home décor, and gift baskets.

  • Little Town Cottage for handmade soaps, home décor, and plenty of gift ideas.

  • PNW Vibes Market with plenty of apparel, handmade PNW souvenirs, home décor, soaps and so much more.

  • Popsies is the perfect spot for adults and little ones who enjoy old-style candy and gourmet popcorn. And remember, these make great stocking stuffers.

How about the town of Coupeville?

  • Bayleaf offers plenty of options for all food and wine lovers out there. You will be able to purchase gourmet cheeses and meats, local jams, kitchen gadgets, pasta, sauces, and delicious wines. The best part? The owner can customize crates filled with what your heart desires.

  • Aqua Gifts has an eclectic mix of jewelry, accessories, apparel, home décor, and bath & body care.

  • The Seaside Spa & Salon offers gift certificates for facials, massages, and plenty of pampering.

  • A Touch of Dutch is another sweet tooth paradise. Offering plenty of seasonal décors, gifts, and hard-to-find food from the Netherlands, England, and several European countries.

  • Kingfisher Bookstore is the perfect place for all book lovers. I am a firm advocate of giving people books. Books are easy to wrap, don't break the bank, and last forever!

And of course, if you live or visit the south end of the island, you can't miss out on some really cute shops in Langley.

  • Sweet Mona's Chocolates creates extraordinary confections using only fine quality ingredients. You will be able to enjoy chocolates, roasted coffee, and gelato. Yum!

  • Wish by the Sea offers country and coastal gifts, décor, and local artisan-made gifts. The cherry on top? You can shop online and they will offer free delivery to South Whidbey islanders.

  • Feather & Fox Print Co. is a one-stop shop for art supplies, books, apparel, and unique gifts.

Of course, let's not forget that the real meaning of Christmas isn't gift-wrapped but it is a time where families come together and celebrate. Celebrating relationships, no matter the religious beliefs, and enjoying quality time together.

Wishing you all a lovely Holiday Season!
